Introduction to Shibori (Japanese technique) which involves preparing your fabrics for resist dyeing and to a variety of twisting, folding and clamping methods; and mixing cold water dyes.
If you love colour and pattern then this workshop will give you an introduction to basic dyeing techniques aimed at beginners. The emphasis will be a fun and tactile experience encouraging playful experimentation. At the end of the day you will have produced a collection of colourful samples.
The fabric provided will be small pieces of 100% cotton.
But you may wish to bring along your own cotton, linen or silk fabrics (no synthetics).
